SOUTH HAMS HOSPITAL
LEAGUE OF FRIENDS.
South Hams Hospital was built in 1928 with 12 beds to replace the seven-bed cottage hospital on Duncombe Street, which itself was founded to commemorate Queen Victoria’s jubilee.
The hospital in Kingsbridge is a significant asset to the community. Patients live many miles from our major hospitals and local hospital facilities can provide accessible and valuable treatment, recuperation and end-of-life care to people in the area.

The hospital is an invaluable resource for locals and visitors alike, sparing patients the time and trauma of long journeys to treat minor injuries, or for regular treatments and ongoing medical care.
